What you need to know about staffing agencies:
- Staffing agencies can be a great avenue to secure a temporary position, permanent employment, or
temporary to permanent employment.
- If the agency requests a fee, DO NOT APPLY. Legitimate agencies never request a fee from the candidate.
- If hired, you are an employee of the agency NOT the employer you are on-assignment
with (Exception: The employer decides to buy out your contract from the agency - if that option is available).
- The agencies work hard to place the best possible candidates for their contracted employers.
If you wish to be considered a serious candidate, then you must follow-up with the agency on at
least a bi-weekly basis (unless they state otherwise) to show continued interest and take advantage
of any recommendations they may have given you.
