Long-Sleeve Relief Drive

In conjunction with The Florida Catholic, all parishioners of SMM are asked to donate the following items for use by the Farmworkers in Central Florida:
-       Long and short sleeve cotton shirts
-       Food: any non-perishable items
-       Personal Hygiene Items: toothpaste, soap, shampoo, hand lotion, sanitary items
-       Diapers (size 3 and 4), wipes, baby food

This drive is only happening during Lent.  Donations can be brought to every Mass, and dropped in the bin next to the BOGOGO cart outside of Mass.

St. Eamon Circle/CCW thanks you for your support of this very important project.  These items help the farmworkers stretch the few dollars that they make, in order to have money to pay for rent, utilities, medical bills and transportation. Farmworkers deserve our compassion and awareness, but first and foremost, farmworkers deserve dignity and justice.

For more information, visit www.TheFloridaCatholic.org, and look for the link on the right. To go directly to a full list of donation items, click here: Donation Items (Adobe Acrobat PDF file)

Bags of Hope Central Florida’s FEED and READ Children’s Program

This program benefits homeless, displaced and severely impoverished children of our local community. These children suffer from hunger to the point that they are unable to concentrate in school and are falling behind in class.  They depend on the school’s free breakfast and lunch as their sole source of nutrition, on the weekend and at dinner they often go without food.  We bring care packages of food to the children each Friday and books to encourage their literacy.  Thanks to your support this program has already had great success in that the children have food each week and now are able to concentrate on school!  Their reading scores have improved dramatically as has their overall morale!  The goal of this program is to empower these children to use their education as a tool to change their futures and end the cycle of poverty they were born into.

Visit www.bohcfl.com for more information or to make a tax deductible monetary donation online.
