MINISTRY
TO FAMILIES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

different times in our lives, families may experience special

an annulment, being a Single Parent, grieving due to death in
the family, unemployment, family illness, concerns for children
and teens whose parents are divorced or separated, being a Blended
or Step parent family. This Ministry addresses those needs.

RAINBOWS
FOR ALL GOD'S CHILDREN - A Support Group For Children of Separated
or Divorced Families Resources
Rainbows
has been a program available in the diocese for at least 20 years.
The Diocese of Orlando has sponsored this program at several area
churches. We are very happy to announce this fall St Mary Magdalen
is beginning a Rainbows Program. The program recognizes the needs
of grieving children and changing families experience in a positive
way regardless of age, gender and the type of loss they suffer.
The Rainbows program also helps adults understand how children
perceive the loss and how to help them get beyond it with unique
approaches through play-based activities. Children are divided
into age groups with age appropriate activities. The parents have
their own group in which they discuss the activities the child
will be having and are helped to understand how to respond to
situations which can arise from these activities.
Registration is required. Watch for specific dates in the bulletin.
