Welcome to Pack 38’s Eighth Annual WDW Campout. We hope that you will enjoy your weekend by utilizing Fort Wilderness’s amenities. You should have received information at the front entrance, listing the various activities available. Please refer to the enclosed schedule of Pack activities throughout the weekend. You are by no means restricted to these events. They are organized and led by your Den Leaders. There are a few rules that we must adhere to according to BSA regulations. Here are a few that pertain to us:

  • Smoking: Please refrain from tobacco use around the boys.
  • Alcohol:  BSA strictly prohibits alcohol at Pack and Troop functions.
  • Axes: Cub Scouts are not allowed to use axes or hatchets. Please store them in a safe place.
  • Fires: No flames of any kind are allowed in tents (i.e. stoves, lanterns, heaters, hand warmers, candles, etc.). More adults than boys are killed while ignoring this rule. Please watch your boys around the fire rings. We have had problems in the past from boys throwing sticks and stones into the fire.
  • Overnights: BSA eased certain restrictions concerning overnight camping. An assigned guardian (formerly a parent or legal guardian only) must accompany a Cub Scout on overnight campouts. This person does not have to be related however must be an adult that agrees to watch that boy solely.
  • Sleeping arrangements: BSA rules state that Scouts may sleep in the same quarters as adults only if they are family members. Scouts may tent with Scouts; adults may tent with other adults; Scouts may tent with other unrelated adults only if a related adult is present.
  • Buddy system: Please do not allow Scouts to go anywhere without their buddy.

These are a few rules set forth by Boy Scouts of America and subsequently, Pack 38. Please reflect on these rules when asking yourself “why?”.
They are intended for your boy’s safety and are not intended to” just make your life rough”. Please use common sense.
