When the boys in Pack 38 think about Cub Scouts they usually think
about Pinewood
Derby races, Marshmallow Turkey Shooters, Pumpkin Carving , the
Annual Pack Kickball game, Disney Campouts, Halloween weekend
at
Camp LaNoChe and Moss Park Webelos II cross over
weekend. When Scout parents think about Cub Scouting the
words
WISDOM, COURAGE, SELF-CONTROL, JUSTICE, FAITH, HOPE
and LOVE
come to mind. These are the Seven Great Virtues of Cub
Scouting.
Scouts must have these if they are to succeed and
advance
not only in Scouting but also in life. With the parents and
the
Pack
Leadership working together, we will assist every scout in learning how
to live life with these virtues.
Cub
Scout Pack 38 is Chartered by St.
Mary Magdalen
Catholic Church in
Altamonte Springs, Florida. We are a part of the Seminole
Springs
district within
the Central
Florida Council.
It is our privilege to welcome you and hope we can answer all
the
questions you may have about our Scouting program. Although
we are chartered by St. Mary Magdalen, all boys living in the area are
welcome to join our Pack; no affiliation with our
church/school is
required.
During the Den meetings, the boys will work to complete their
Achievements in order earn their Badge Rank and Cross Over to the next
Den for the following year. The boys can also complete and
earn various Academic and Sports Belt Loops and Pins. During
each
Pack
Meeting, each Den Leader, with the help of the Cub Master, will present
any awards (Progress Beads, Belt Loops, Activity Badges etc) that the
scouts earned that month. This monthly recognition helps to
motivate the boys to keep moving down the Scouting trail.
Once
all all Awards have been distributed there is usually a fun activity
for the boys, depending on the monthly theme. More
information on the Pack Activities can be found on the Pack Calendar
page.
