Saint Mary Magdalen Hilltopper Ministry
"Been There, Done That, - and Eager to Share our Life Experiences"
The mission of the St. Mary Magdalen Hilltoppers Ministry is to provide all parishioners 55 and over, opportunities for both fellowship and spiritual enrichment. Dedicated to Christ, we are a Ministry of sharing and love accomplished through acts of spirituality, support, social interaction and communication. We serve those searching for a deeper spirituality, those wishing to socialize with other parishioners, and those seeking ways to help improve the lives of others - especially parishioners who may require unique help, advice, or referrals.
We do this by sponsoring Christ-centered social events, and identifying the many parish and community resources available for help and referrals to those seeking our aid.
Our committees developing these activities could benefit greatly from your practical life experience. Give us a call if you’d like to help.
But if you just want to enjoy specific Hilltoppers activities, that’s OK too! Everyone 55 or older is automatically a Hilltopper, (there’s no membership roster) and we hope to enjoy your company whenever we sponsor something appealing to you.

What’s in Our Name?
When we formed our Ministry, we disliked many of the titles bestowed on those 55 and over. Names like Senior citizens, Golden Oldies, etc., were overused or just a bit too cute. So we discussed where we were in life - that led to selecting
"Hilltoppers."
We reasoned that we had climbed the hill of life (we’ve all been at it quite a few years) and had gained maturity and experience along the way. And we sense that we are drawing near the end of our climb.
We don’t think we’ve "got it made" nor are we bragging about our successes. It’s just that Christ has given us so much grace during our climb, that with His limitless help, we’ve reached a place near the top, where we can, and must share our experiences.
Of course we realize that the real top of the hill is reached only in heaven. That’s the final summit to scale, and until we do, there’s much to be done right here in the SMM community, ministering to others and working out our salvation.
Our Ministry, with the help of the Holy Spirit strives to help all our 55 and beyond parishioners feel “on top of the hill” - not over it.
