Weekly Meditation For Busy Parents

DESERT MEDITATION FOR PARENTS

For those times I've expected miracles of my children -- model behavior when they were tired or hungry, quiet compliance when acting out meant they longed for some loving -- get behind me, Satan.

For those times I've tested their love for me -- erupting in anger when I might have been more patient, saying "If you loved me . . . " to manipulate their minds -- get behind me, Satan.

For those times I've put power and prestige ahead of being a good parent -- always pleasing my boss instead of my children, chasing an ideal of the perfect family as a trophy for myself -- get behind me, Satan.
