I am Jim Zatlukal and I am the newest member of the Family Life Commission. I am married to MaryAnn Griffin Zatlukal for 35 years. We are blessed with 5 children and 4 grandchildren.

Both MaryAnn and I came from Cold Spring, New York -- about 50 miles North of NYC. We met while we were teaching at State University College at Buffalo. We moved to Florida in 1997 when I retired as an Education Administrator. I had been the Supervisor of Art Education at the NY State Dept. of Education and taught Education, Art History and Creativity courses at the college level.

Since moving to Orlando, I have lectured at our Diocesan Retreat Center at San Pedro for days of recollection and for Elder Hostel programs Formerly members of St. Isaac Jogues Church, we moved to Lake of the Woods Sub Division recently and joined St. Mary Magdalen in 2003/4.

Why did I join the Family Life Commission?

I love the arts, especially painting, and have done some local art shows of my work. I am interested in using my talents to develop a program at St, Mary Magdalen where parishioners/families can enhance their spirituality through drawing, painting, sculpture, writing, or even art appreciation.
