Ray
& Judy Hosler Ministry for Fathers &
Cantor and Wedding Coordinator |
Hello one and all! We are Ray and Judy Hosler, newest volunteers in
Family Life Ministry. We both hail from Columbus, Ohio, where I met Judy in 1953.
After four years of courting, we were married in 1957. We spent 15 years of our
lives in Pittsburgh. We moved to Orlando in 1976 when I was transferred
to the Nuclear Power School at the Naval Training Center and have lived here since.
We joined St. Mary Magdalen then and have loved being a part of this special Community
of Faith ever since. In 1979, I joined the faculty in Engineering at UCF and retired
from there in 2001. Judy and I are blessed with five adult children,
ages 45 to 35, 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren (Three of the children
live in the Orlando area, one in Myrtle Beach area, and one in Saudi Arabia.)
At the Parish Day of Discernment for Ministry in October 2004, I picked Family
Life Ministry as one of my choices in which to minister. I will be serving on
this Commission for the next three years. I felt especially drawn to
the Ministry for Fathers in the hope that some of my experiences may be helpful
to others. With Blake Van Brunt, another new member of the Family Life Commission,
we hope to reach out and support fathers of all ages in the upcoming days.
Judy has recently been appointed “Wedding Coordinator” for St Mary Magdalen.
Besides being in the 10:00 choir, a Cantor for Sunday Mass and at Funeral Liturgies,
she will be assisting brides and grooms from our parish plan their Wedding liturgy
as well as assist them on the actual day of their ceremony. We both look forward
to serve you, our parish family, in our new capacities. |
