Hi! I am Kelly Hopper, the new Coordinator of Sunday Faith Formation for children 4 and 5 years old. I am thrilled to be leading this formation process for our children. I know that you and your children will be delighted to be a part of this learning experience.

I have been a "native" of Florida on and off for the past 20 years. After attending high school and college locally (Go Knights!), I married my husband Dennis in 1996. Today we have two wonderful young children, Brianna and Dylan. Soon after we moved to this side of Orlando in 2003, we joined St Mary Magdalen parish and have greatly enjoyed being a part of it.

About 3 years ago when my daughter turned 3, I began my involvement in preschool religious education. I wanted to encourage our daughter to want to learn about our Loving God and our Catholic faith from her young years. After joining SMM, I became involved with our Sunday Faith Formation Team and am excited and convinced about the merits of this wonderful program.

To me, our Sunday Faith Formation hour, held only during the 10AM Mass on Sunday in the Child Care Center on the Church Property, is a great way to introduce our little ones to our Catholic faith in a fun and interactive way. It is a great stepping stone for them before they transition to a more structured religious education environment received during the school years. We teachers use Bible stories, songs, games, and crafts to spark their interest in learning about the Lord. And the children respond enthusiastically to our approach. So why don't you consider leaving them with us for this one hour, so you can participate in Eucharist in a more focused way. Your children will eagerly look forward to sharing with you what they have learned at class.

At the present time, we are looking for a person of faith who loves little children and would be interested in being a teacher or an assistant in our program. Don't be afraid if you are not a teacher. We will train and mentor you in this role. To get more information, please call me at 407-323-8921.
